Bradley has had a great start to the New Year – making a new best friend! Bradley’s owners have a family friend who recently adopted a dog named Moose from North Shore Animal League America. Bradley and Moose were recently introduced and hit it off right from the start. Bradley showed Moose all his favorite spots in the yard and the two romped around in the snow for quite some time. When they were done playing in the cold the two retreated inside for a little game of tug-of-war with Bradley’s most beloved toy.
Bradley made a recent visit to the Animal League for a very special occasion. A local school teacher had her class participant in a creative writing assignment in which each student would choose one animal from the Animal League’s Sponsor Program. They would write a story about the sponsor animal’s life before arriving at the Animal League and their journey here. The student who wrote the winning story chose to write about Bradley. The entire class came to the Animal League to not only receive a tour of our facilities, but to meet the one and only Bradley himself. Accompanied by his adoptive family Bradley greeted all the students with some licks. Everyone seemed to enjoy the visit and Bradley once again felt like the shining star that he is!
Bradley continues to be a fun-loving pooch and a pleasure to have around. Since the winter has set in, he hasn’t been able to do some of his favorite things – like visit Central Park to frolic with the other dogs. However, his family thinks he’ll forget all about that for awhile. They plan on treating Bradley, once again, to eight special presents in celebration of the holidays. A family friend also bought a new dog bed for Bradley to lounge on. We’re sure that Bradley will be very appreciative and that his new toys and doggie treats will keep him occupied indoors all winter long!
Bradley visited the Animal League this past month to get a routine check-up. A few staff members went down to the medical center to greet Bradley and were amazed to see how much he has grown since leaving their care. Bradley definitely remembered his old friends – he jumped up to give some wet, slobbery kisses. Employee & volunteer Alice shown with Bradly here! Once the reunion was over Bradley trotted in for his check-up. He received his annual vaccinations and was evaluated because he has recently been coughing while drinking water. Bradley will soon be evaluated by a specialist for a diagnosis.
